The students are given clear roles such as; Discussion Director, Summariser, Predictor, Creative Connector, Literacy Luminary, Illustrator (visualiser) and Word Wizard.
After explicit modelling by the teacher, the students are eventually able to lead the discussion themselves as they collaboratively interrogate the text. The teacher facilitates this discussion, only intervening where necessary.
